This site is dedicated to the memory of Dorothy Ainsworth.

In loving memory of Dorothy Ainsworth, GREAT, GREAT GRANDMOTHER, GREAT GRANDMOTHER, NANA, MOTHER, WIFE, AUNT, SISTER, DAUGHTER, FRIEND. I will always remember my Nana for many reasons. For her accute sense of fashion and colour coordination. Her colourful array of beads. The way she used to refer to 'spending a penny' and not knowing what that meant when I was a child. The way we used to always have mashed potato when Nana came for dinner. Her beautiful handwriting and how she never forgot our birthdays. The love of St Davids and what it means to all of us. The butterfly bush in her garden and the story that has stayed with me my whole life since she told me of Grandpa and HIS butterfly. Of the beautiful 'angel' clock on her mantlepiece and of the magnifying glasses that were always too precious to touch. And for many many more memories Nana. You were always so special, and always will be. xxx One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonging to him and the other to the Lord When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of his life. This really bothered him and questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. However, I noticed that during the most troublesome times of my life there was only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me." The Lord replied, " my precious, precious child, I love you and I would never leave you during your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints it was then that I carried you." St Davids lifeboat station has been launching lifeboats for nearly 140 years and Dorothy was a lifelong supporter of the orgainisation. It is her wish that instead of flowers at her memorial ceremony, donations be made in her name to the St Davids RNLI fund. ** TO ENSURE THE MONEY DONATED GOES TO ST DAVIDS RNLI, WHERE THE OPTION ASKS FOR ANY OTHER INFORMATION, PLEASE WRITE THE FOLLOWING ** "DONATIONS TO BE RESTRICTED TO ST DAVIDS LBS" THANK YOU xxx

I always knew that we had arrived at Nanas and Grandpas because of the stones on the drive making a noise as we drove on. The beautiful lit caravan ornament in the hall. The huge dining room table with the lovely smells of boxing day food. Being told to hunt for presents in the lounge, it was so exciting. The garden, that for two children who lived thirty floors up was amazing. Roxanne thought it was a park! When we finally got a garden Nana and Grandpa bought us the best swing set! They always got everything right! Thank you xx
